“Who says you can’t change your haircut? But it looks good anyway / I kinda wonder where you got it / And I doubt you even paid” might just be one of the wittiest lyrics on Atlanta Billionaires Club - Faye Webster’s latest record.
Webster has come a hell of a long way from her beginnings as a country singer, and I’m loving the new indie sound on her new album. The dreamy, summery vibes on lead single “Right Side Of My Neck” make it one of the album’s highlights. Reverb-soaked pedal steel mixes with laid back beats and warm keys to form a beautiful-yet-raw sonic cocktail that sounds like something from the Spongebob soundtrack. You can almost hear it accompanying a chilled summer evening.
