On My Own – Zayland

Zayland is an up-and-coming rapper from my hometown of Austin, Texas. He’s currently under a local label here known as Nu Wave SOUND-whom which he put his music out under. Zayland is one of the labels super talented artists who has the ear for what kind of music will stick in your mind all day. 

“On My Own” is a very catchy and well-produced track about taking care of business and being your  own boss as you’re on your journey to become successful. For an artist like Zayland who is making his moves to prosper in the industry, this track is his personal and motivational drive to focus on himself and his goals. 

This track is only about 2 minutes long- so it’s just long enough to catch on to all the lyrics and the addictive hook. “On My Own” is a very relatable message for all those that have to stay self-motivated to get to where they want to be in life; so this is a personal anthem for me right now and a personal favorite at this time!

About the Curator - Briyanna Wilson

Briyanna Wilson is a quality analysis technician who works very long hours throughout the week. Even with working long hours, she actually has the opportunity to listen to tons of music; this is how she became so obsessed with discovering hundreds of new artists throughout the years.

Growing up on music from the eras the 70’, 80’s and beyond - Briyanna has always had a wide range of musical preferences. It was only until very recently that hunting for what’s special and new in the evolving music industry has caught her attention. It is now a huge obsession for Briyanna to look into any and all new music that releases-and plopping every song she likes into the very many playlists she creates on a regular basis.

While Living in Austin, Texas (the live music capital of the world) Briyanna spends a lot of time going to all the live shows she can take advantage of. This inspired her to want to meet more local artists and catapult herself in to their worlds of music and musical experiences. Briyanna finds great joy in immersing herself in new corners of music and sounds she never thought she’d be interested in. Her vast knowledge and acceptance of different styles and genres in music only continues to grow as time goes on, and living in Austin makes it that much more beneficial to Briyanna to do that.

With all of these elements at work, Briyanna never stops exploring the wonderful world that is being a music enthusiast; and has been insanely inspired to curate various playlists. She also has started a music blog that she updates with relevant content for her readers that you can check out here
