Don Amero... wow! Amero has been around for a bit. How long is a bit? Well, he has five albums to his credit. His latest project, Evolution, was just released last week. His new single is Give It To Ya but I want to focus on Church. It's off the same album, released last year and had moderate success at radio. He has been nominated for eleven international awards, including three Junos. I have seen Amero a couple of times and worked with him this past month, catching the story behind Church....
....Church is one of those songs that comes down from something someone said. In this case Amero's grandfather who would say that he didn't need a building, he was in church when he was fishing. No people, no pews, no steeple, just blue skies. Those lyrics evoke a simpler time of faith. A thought that we don't need an organized gathering to show out faith to Him, whoever He is. I think my favorite line is, It ain't no Sunday morning, it ain't no preacher preaching, but out here in the quiet, I can hear Him speaking to me. For me, it says that reaffirms that we dont need that organized Sunday service. It might be Tuesday or Friday or any day and no one is filling my ears, its quiet. I can say what I need to say and I can hear Him speak to me. Its the proverbial "speak to me", at least maybe it is. You're in a quiet place with your thoughts and somehow, the piece and stillness helps us, calms us so that our thoughts, or His, become clear. I invite you to kick back and give a listen, here his words, let Don Amero speak to you, Church.

About The Curator - Jazz Matthews
I have been in the music business for just over ten years. It started simple enough. Bring my favorite artist to my hometown and enjoy the show. It was easy. I knew the artist and his management. I never thought it would grow like it has. Since that May of 2007, I have produced over 100 shows, managed two artists, produced two CDs and multiple singles, released 4 tunes to radio on our label and put my artist in front of some of the biggest names in Canadian country music. To quote one of those artists, “It Started With A Song”. It all did. Today, I continue in all those roles. Doing what I love on a daily basis is reward enough. Listening to new artists is a bonus.
