I just finished working with Annika and Bryton, Leaving Thomas and they have recently become an independent duo. As a Canadian in the music business, I had heard of them but only recently had we met. Their tune Blame It On The Neon is a classic country crooning, crying tune. It's about a girl, drinking in a bar and whatever happens, she's going to blame it on the neon. And which one of us, in any genre of music, hasn't done that. Bars have neon lights. Add music and a beverage or two and those neon lights, from the Hamms' bear to the Stella Artois goblet and all the beer signs in between are responsible for a whole lot of attempts to recover from heartache....
....The duo are currently up for two Canadian Country Music Awards (September 9, 2018) and that is very tough for indies to do. I was blessed to have them perform their only acoustic show of the summer for me just a couple of weeks ago. The entertainment value of seeing Leaving Thomas is worth the price admission no matter what it is. I can only imagine the full band show. Apparently Bryton actually performs a lift with Annika, something akin to figure skating but with white sneakers instead of blades. Not a couple, but friends for a very long time, Leaving Thomas are also one of only 12 artists to be competing in Project Wild, a developmental program that will see the top act come out with a prize of over $100,000 to further their career. Without a doubt, they are on the "to watch" list.

About The Curator - Jazz Matthews
I have been in the music business for just over ten years. It started simple enough. Bring my favorite artist to my hometown and enjoy the show. It was easy. I knew the artist and his management. I never thought it would grow like it has. Since that May of 2007, I have produced over 100 shows, managed two artists, produced two CDs and multiple singles, released 4 tunes to radio on our label and put my artist in front of some of the biggest names in Canadian country music. To quote one of those artists, “It Started With A Song”. It all did. Today, I continue in all those roles. Doing what I love on a daily basis is reward enough. Listening to new artists is a bonus.
