Codie Prevost is one of those, grow up in a small town kinda country stories. Archerwill, Saskatchewan might be a couple hundred strong, maybe. To understand Codie and how got started, you really need to hear it from him. Telling someone else's story just won't do it justice. In the end, or rather the middle of this story, so much has happened that already, at age 33, he has been inducted into the Saskatchewan Country Music Hall of Fame. In 2006 at the age of 21, he won the Rising Star and Album of the Year for his debut project, The Road Ahead.
in 2009, Codie won five times and his band picked up a sixth SCMA Award and the race was on. Through to his induction in the Hall this last spring, Codie has picked up more than two dozen SCMAs and add to that the seven his manager, Al Leblanc picked up and three for his band and it's no wonder the Hall was calling at such a young age. The honor is because of half a dozen wins in both the Male Artist and Entertainer of the Year Categories. He is no longer eligible for those two but with a new CD, titles Radio, out this year and a new, young family, who knows where the next chapter will take him. It really is, All Kinds Of Crazy....
....I think working with Independent artists gives me a different perspective on the music. I have been blessed to have worked with Codie Prevost on half a dozen occasions and you get to know the artist and that changes the perspective to more than just, I like their music. It really does. Codie shows up for a show in tie, vest and matching slacks with running shoes. After getting to know him, I get it. All Kinds Of Crazy is still that small town party song that many artists sing abou, so what makes this one stand out to me? The tie and vest do. With the very first line "Five days a week, forty hours, I'm on my best behavior." That's the tie. The next line, "Friday night, five o'clock, I called and I warned all the neighbors." There's the best. This is a good kid. Not your typical, tear up the corn fields kinda party song. The "house full of party, speakers full of music, boys full of whiskey, girls about to lose it", good thing he made those calls cause now its "all good in the neighborhood." Its a house party, with a pong game in the kitchen and wannabe rock stars in the living room. One other thing, the lines, "The whole place is shakin" and "right now we're getting" are done with a little of that country road gravel in the voice that so many of the ladies like. My wife is no different. That's why I put on some Codie Prevost before we get... you know! Oh, and those elephants on the cover, not photoshop, REAL!! And that story is.... All Kinds Of Crazy!

About The Curator - Jazz Matthews
I have been in the music business for just over ten years. It started simple enough. Bring my favorite artist to my hometown and enjoy the show. It was easy. I knew the artist and his management. I never thought it would grow like it has. Since that May of 2007, I have produced over 100 shows, managed two artists, produced two CDs and multiple singles, released 4 tunes to radio on our label and put my artist in front of some of the biggest names in Canadian country music. To quote one of those artists, “It Started With A Song”. It all did. Today, I continue in all those roles. Doing what I love on a daily basis is reward enough. Listening to new artists is a bonus.
