About this Playlist
I discovered Owen’s single in our pop track submissions. Right away the name of this track caught my attention as well as his words about the track itself. Along with his submission, he wrote us:
‘Best of Me’ was written about the fears and regrets that set in after breaking up from a long-term relationship. It’s a stripped-back piano ballad, with a light organ texture underpinning the chorus, leaving room for the emotion of the vocals and lyrics to take the main focus”.
Best of Me by Owen Denvir
The first thing I heard in Owen’s track was a beautiful piano instrumental followed by Owen’s vocals and I was hooked. I was reminded of songs like Lewis Capaldi’s, “Someone I loved” and FINNEAS’, “Broken Heart”.
I was impressed with Owen’s voice, his control and range, and his classical background shines through here. The intimacy of the stripped back ballad is enough to keep you hanging on to every word. I could feel every emotion Owen was feeling every time he sang, “I know now the best of me was always you.” This track has led me to explore his impressive discography that covers all of his releases back to 2015. His single, “Best of Me” inspired me to make a playlist full of other songs that share a similar emotional response while listening. All of these tracks have one thing in common, the same stripped back piano ballads like Owen sent to us.
