About this Playlist
The indefatigable force of nature that is Andie De Guzman has been supporting the local Filipino music scene for years. Not content with sharing amazing local artists on her playlists – she is part of a team that is putting together IRL gigs. Under the name atm productions, they’ve already had two successful events and are about to throw their third and biggest to date. We thought it would be a good idea to get Andie and atm productions in the spotlight:
What about music makes you passionate?
Music has this incredible way of bringing people together. It’s in those small moments, like when I’m in a car with friends, and a familiar song starts playing. Suddenly, the silence disappears, and everyone’s singing, maybe rolling the windows down, with someone already excitedly queuing up the next song. Then, you’ll hear, “I don’t know this one!” – and just like that, a conversation sparks: “Oh, that band is…” or “This album actually…,” and everyone’s caught up in the moment. It amazes me how music does that, how it creates connections effortlessly.
You know how people have that one person they go to for good news or when they just need a break? For me, music is also that “person.” The lyrics, the hidden messages, they lift me up. Music just gets it. It understands, even helps me express myself when I feel like I don’t have the right words. That’s why I’m so passionate about it – it brings out something in me that feels so real.
How did you first put an event together? What was the influential moment that made you want to create something like this?
In the Philippines, we refer to areas like mine as “the South,” and the cities further up as “the North.” It’s slang that stuck with us from high school and university, even though it’s totally geographically off! Most of the music gigs are in the North because that’s where the nightlife is – bars, clubs, everything. So my group and I thought, “Why not create something for the South?” That’s how it all started.
There’s a well-known coworking space in the South called Nook, and I interned there after college. It was the perfect spot because Nook wanted to be a place for both work and play – funky coworking vibes on weekdays and fun, transformed weekend parties. So naturally, we held our first two events there! For the third one, we were approached by an event manager from a bar further south. It was a new environment, but we jumped at the opportunity. It was exciting to branch out and take our gigs to new places!
What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a new event manager?
I’d say figuring out where to start each day. It’s not exactly a problem, more like confusion at times. Even after two events, I still feel new to this. We’ve been preparing for our next gig since June, and there’s always a list of things to do. But what’s cool is that every day, someone brings up a new idea – “Let’s make a video about this!” or “We should design merch like that…” It’s exciting because it keeps things fresh and evolving.
I guess my point is that while there are definitely challenges, they feel like opportunities to grow and learn. I know my team and I can overcome whatever comes our way. Being a new event manager comes with a lot of responsibilities, but taking it step by step and enjoying the process is what makes it all worth it.
What are your upcoming plans, and how can people support you?
We’ve got a gig coming up on September 28 at Sari Sari Cocktails in Makati. It’s called “This My Jam!” and we’ve got seven amazing local performances lined up, including a couple of DJ sets! You can learn more and buy tickets here.

What are you curious about at the moment?
Right now, I’m super curious to see how our next event will turn out in this new space. Our first two gigs were at familiar venues with performers who were mostly friends, so it felt like home turf. This time, we’ve got over 300 likes on our initial lineup poster – we were stunned! It’s a big leap for us, especially because we’ve secured artists who’ve played on bigger stages and known bars. This feels like the next level for me.
Apart from organizing, I’m also leading the Talent Management team. At first, I was nervous about communicating with these new performers – it’s different when you have to go through managers, contracts, and approvals. But I think I’m getting the hang of it now, and I can’t wait to meet everyone in person.
If you had $2,500 to spend on marketing your event, where would you allocate it and why?
First, I’d definitely surprise the team with some of our dream artists for future gigs. We’ve had conversations about our ideal lineups, and it would be amazing to make that happen.
Next, merch! We wanted to do it for our previous gigs, but it didn’t fit the budget. We had ideas for shirts, pins, and caps, but we had to set them aside. For the venue, we’ve got our eye on a new spot that hasn’t hosted gigs before, and we’d love to be the first to do something there – especially a music event!
What wavelength are you on, and how can others join you?
Right now, I’m on a wavelength of excitement and curiosity – it’s a bit overwhelming, but in the best way. If you want to hop on this wavelength with me, I’d say give a song a listen, make a playlist, or watch some live music. I hope it makes you feel just as pumped and inspired as it does for me!
