1/ So First Off - Tell Us your Name, City and Country and what you currently do for a living?
My name is Ashlee Villaseñor. I live in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas in the US. I just graduated from college so I’m just trying to figure out my life, honestly.
2/ Is This Something You Always Wanted To Do? What Do You Enjoy About It?
I love sharing music. I love making my friends playlists. I love finding new music, so being able to be in charge of a playlist and share it to the world is awesome!
3/ Tell Us About Your First Musical Memory - Why Do You Think You Remember It?
Growing up my parents always went to concerts or rodeos. I remember being really like probably 3 or 4, sleeping on the chairs at a concert. I was completely in awe at the beginning of the concert but it was past my bed time. I think I remember this because it explains why I enjoy going to concerts.
4/ Who Did You Make Your First Mixtape / Playlist For - What Was The Result - Did They Dig It?
I started making mixtapes in high school. I use to burn them on cds for my best friend because she always loved my music. To this day I still make her playlists on Spotify, 8tracks or I simply send her songs I think she might like.
5/ What Made You Go Online And Search About Music Curation?
Last year I was wondering what I was going to do after I graduate, especially since I decided I didn’t want to go to Law School anymore. I figured I should try to find a job doing something I love and then I stumbled upon an internship with Andrew.
6/ Tell us about the name of your Playlist - where did that come from?
My playlist is called Music to Go to The Moon. This stemmed from a phrase my dad says to me all the time “Andas en la Luna, triame una piedra”, which literally translates to “you’re on the moon, bring me a rock”. I’m a daydreamer so I wanted this to be for all the other daydreamers.
7/ What does a track have to have to make it onto your list, is there something special that you look for?
My playlist isn’t a specific genre, it’s more of a feeling. If it feels right then it can be featured on my playlist.
8/ What can an artist do in their track submission to your list to ensure that you'll listen to their track?
If you show your passion for your music and how it will fit in the playlist, I will def listen to it. It also helps if you enjoy the playlist.
9/ We know - these change all the time - but as of this week - what are your all time top 5 favorite tracks.
