About this playlist
For me personally, a good song, instantly transports you to a memory that has slipped away to the back of your mind. It immediately takes you back to that place, you feel it in your skin and can see it behind your eyes. This is why I love alt rock that creates an atmosphere. Cinematic build ups, dreamy ambience, and most importantly significant conclusions. These are the elements that define this playlist.
Bombay bicycle kicks us off with "Lamplight", a sound that will make any teenager instantly want to pick up some wood with six strings on it. Once we are on our journey, "Aberdeen" from the cage the elephant will start slashing at your heart strings. Then the black keys come through with "Weight of Love" to remind us we are all just wandering through this world without a compass. My song "Beatrice" adds to this, taking us to the times we need to escape the noise of life and focus on ourselves.
Chevelle leads us to the end of our reverie with "Letter from a thief" creating the angsty optimism only they can create, to relight the fire in your heart, dust off your boots and keep swinging. We have all lived a different story, this playlist will hopefully make you think of all the good and the bad, and turn that into energy for our mind to embrace all the stories left in store for us...

Matthew Bellamy instantly became my idol, and every time my fingers hurt, I just thought about how worth it will be to feel like him on stage one day. I haven't looked back since... As a result the music I like to create is guitar driven, making sure there are dynamic riffs and chords that compliment the vocal line and ultimately try to capture the feelings that made me want to create that piece of music. This is what drives me to make atmospheric songs. They don't necessarily have to tell a story, they just have to set the scene so your mind can fill in the blanks. This is what my debut album "Ghosts and Lunar Blues" is all about. Growing up as a surfer in South Africa I spent a lot of time in the backseat with headphones staring out the window, wondering what is yet to come and about my mistakes . My love of atmospheric music stems from those drives, whether it's chopin or All them Witches. Music moves air molecules to create feelings, and feelings drive humanity...
